Leakage of chemicals flowing through pipes in industrial sites can threaten not only the operation of the site but also the safety of workers, making it necessary to quickly identify and respond to leaks.

Ahn Hyun-soo, CEO of GIF Korea, a specialized manufacturer of hazardous chemical leak detection sensors, stated, "Existing leak detection sensors typically activate an alarm based on light refraction after a chemical has leaked and flowed to the sensor, often resulting in detection long after an incident occurs or causing malfunction."

Furthermore, Ahn pointed out that "the actual places where leaks occur are mostly at the joints of pipes," saying, "We focused on enabling immediate visual identification of leaks and preventing malfunctions while developing the product," explaining that a tape-type color-changing sensor can be installed at pipe joints.

According to Ahn, the sensor sends electrical signals to trigger alarms upon chemical leaks by mixing polymer and graphene, allowing for precise identification of the leaked pipe's location through a monitoring system. Additionally, it doesn't require significant construction and can reduce the overall maintenance costs for factories.

Ahn stated, "After product development, we intended to conduct global marketing, but it was all canceled due to COVID-19 issues," adding, "If we receive investments through this exhibition, we plan to establish mass production facilities and gradually expand global marketing, including overseas plants of large domestic companies."
